Council Consults On Review Of Corporate Plan

Ards Borough Council has launched a round of consultation on the review of its current Corporate Plan.

First published in 2005, the Corporate Plan uses five core themes, from ‘improving the quality of life for residents of the Borough’ to ‘forward planning and developing’, together with a series of strategic aims and objectives, to map out the future focus of the Council’s work. Now at its mid way point, the time is right to make amendments and additions to the Plan to reflect changing circumstances, according to the Mayor of Ards, Councillor Angus Carson:

“Things change, whether as a result of external influences or internal policies and that means that we need to reflect those changes in the Plan which is intended to direct our work until 2009,” said Councillor Carson. “We are inviting local businesses, groups, associations and individuals to comment on the proposed amendments and to make other relevant suggestions to help influence the future direction of the Council and the Borough”.

Copies of the Draft Corporate Plan Mid Point Review are available by contacting Ursula Mezza, Public Relations Officer, Ards Borough Council, 2 Church Street, Newtownards, BT23 4AP, Tel: 028 9182 4021, E: ursula.mezza@ards-council.gov.uk or via the Council’s web site, www.ards-council.gov.uk. The closing date for comments is Friday 22nd June 2007.
